How Many Guests Can a Live Artist Draw at a Wedding in Singapore?

One of the most common questions couples ask us when considering live wedding guest portraits is - how many guests can actually be drawn? Is it unlimited?

The answer depends on a few factors, including time, number of artists, and the style of illustration Here's a simple guide to help you plan realistically.

1. Time & Choice of Style

On average, a live artist can complete 6 - 10 guests per hour (depending on style and complexity).

Simpler, expressive styles allow for higher output, while more detailed portraits will take longer.

2. Number of Artists Matters

If you have a larger wedding, engaging more than one artist can significantly increase coverage.

  • 1 artist (3-4 hours): 30 - 60 guests
  • 2 artists (3 hours): 60 - 100 guests

This is why larger weddings often opt for multiple artists to ensure more guests can be included.

Here are Bycraft, we cater for weddings of different size and are ready to bring in additional artists from our trusted network.

3. Not Every Guests May Want a Portrait

In most weddings, not every guest will request a portrait.

Some guests prefer to watch, interact or simply enjoy the atmosphere which makes live art feel more like an experience rather than a production line.

4. It's About Experience, Not Mass Output

Live art is different from most wedding favors or a photo booth concept.

Rather than serving every single guests, it creates moments of interaction where guests pause, connect and take home something personal.

4. Choosing What Works for Your Wedding

Every wedding is unique and choose what works best for you!

  • If you'd like higher coverage, consider multiple artists.
  • If you value interaction and creating an unique atmosphere, one artist can create a more intimate experience
  • If you want a balance, adjust the hours booked and expectations accordingly.
Bycraft Note: A Thoughtful Live Experience

As with all experiential elements, participation varies. Not every guest may opt for a portrait, and that’s perfectly alright. The experience is thoughtfully paced to ensure quality, rather than mass production.

For weddings where a high percentage of guests are expected to participate, we recommend engaging additional artists to ensure a smooth flow.
